The skin is the largest organ in (or more accurately “on”) the human body. That said, it often gets ignored when people start selecting healthy foods. For example, you may be concerned about which foods can improve the stomach, bladder, or kidney health. Alternatively, we take our skin for granted, even though we all need it to survive.
Avocados
Millions of people love the taste of avocado in guacamole. Still, they may not realize that avocados are also a great diet choice. In addition to being a great source of Vitamins C, E, K, and B-6, avocados can also do wonders for your skin.

Avocados have high-fat content. This may not sound like a good thing, but it is actually a good kind of fat. This fat can help keep your skin firm. Additionally, avocados contain compounds that may protect skin from taking additional sun damage.
Here are three recipes you can make in seconds for healthy skin:
Avocado for All Occasions
- 1 Ripe Avocado
- 1 Container of Plain Organic Yogurt
- 1 Tablespoon of Local or Any High-Quality Honey
An avocado will be just a little soft when it is ripe. Slice around the seed in the middle and pull apart. You can then hit the seed with the sharp part of a knife and easily remove the seed.
Step 1: Mash the avocado until it turns lump free. Mix in one teaspoon of yogurt and tablespoon of honey. Stir well until you get a paste-like consistency.
Idea 1: Apply to clean skin as a mask for approximately 10-15 minutes or until dry. Rinse and enjoy your healthy, bright skin.

Idea 2: Bake-off or grill round focaccia bread. Apply the avocado mixture and any other topping, bake, or place in broiler if needed. Slice and eat.

Idea 3: Take the avocado mixture and top over your favorite salads.

Idea 4: Serve with favorite chips and salsa.

So, the next time you order a side of guacamole and chips, remember that you’re doing your skin a huge favor!
