Crystal healing is on the rise, along with the popularity of stones. But alternative health treatments are not always popular with medical doctors or scientists. Many of whom refer to crystal healing as a pseudoscience.
Furthermore, there has never been any scientific evidence found that crystals could be used to benefit your health as a result of their “energy flow.” No scientific studies have even shown that crystals or gems can treat a particular ailment.
Why Crystal Healing, Then?
So why then all the fuss? Why do so many believe in crystals ability to aid in physical and emotional wellbeing? Why look at crystals and minerals as anything more than beautiful rocks? Okay, I need to be clear, this is merely my theory. Based on the research that I have done, including personally working with quartz crystals for years.

First, I would like you to do something for me. Pick a stone that catches your eye and, with an open mind, sit with it for a while. Do you feel more relaxed? I compare the experience to sitting on a pebble beach on a summer day. Why does this happen? It happens when you are open to letting the vibrations of crystals enter your senses.
How can the energy of something else enter my senses? Glad you asked. You see, everything, absolutely everything, is made up of energy in motion. To answer the question, how, we must take a look at the very tiny pine cone-shaped gland in the lower middle of your brain called the Pineal Gland.
Pineal Gland
According to Wikipedia, the Pineal Gland, also known as the Pineal Body, Conarium, Epiphysis Cerebri, or Third Eye, is a small gland in the vertebrate brain. It produces melatonin and a derived serotonin hormone. These hormones affect the modulation of sleep patterns in both seasonal and circadian rhythms.

Its shape resembles a tiny pine cone. The Pineal Gland is tucked in a groove where the two halves meet of the thalamus. Very few vertebrate species do not possess a Pineal Gland.
The most notable exception is the hagfish and no wonder with a name like that. But let’s cut this guy a break because often it is thought of as the most primitive living vertebrate.
From a biological point of view, the Pineal Gland is a photoreceptor and is made up primarily of the same tissue eyes. Therefore the nickname Third Eye. It is thought this gland helped our ancestors “”see” beyond what their eyes produced — for instance, helping to distinguish eatable plants over poisonous ones, or what situations denoted danger and which did not.
In many species, however, as technology advanced, the Pineal Gland gradually decline in effectiveness or power due to underuse.
But like many today, the French philosopher, mathematician, and scientist dubbed the father of modern western philosophy, 1596 to 1650, René Descartes believed the Pineal Gland to be the “principal seat of the soul.” He felt the Pineal Gland was our original access to our higher self.

Our ancestor’s very life depended on knowing and being, in turn, with the natural world around them. Sensing, knowing, and understanding absolutely everything in the world was critical to survival. They could not fully understand the world through their five senses alone. It is believed that the Pineal Gland was much closer to the top of the head and eyes in early evolution. An active Pineal Gland helped us “see” the unyielding and dangerous world.
My Theory
I believe that crystals and minerals transmit vibrational energy that our underused Pineal Glands can still detect. The atomic movement in a crystal is organized into vibrational modes called phonons. All crystals and minerals vibrate at different rates depending on their size, shape, color, weight, and composition.
There is not an exact way to measure the frequency of a crystal yet, but in nearly all quartz watches’s the rate is 32768 Hz. The small tuning fork-shaped crystals that make a watch work are at the frequency of two or 32768 = 215. It is just out of most people’s hearing range.
When meditating with a particular crystal or mineral, our bodies harmonize with the vibration that is given off. Vibrational energy has been used to heal the body dating back to ancient times. Using resonant vibration, also called harmonic healing, your body’s own vibrational waves are synchronized to healing levels.

Crystals and minerals contain universal energy and have an extremely high vibration condensed into an exact pattern. This energy can transform and balance lower or chaotic energy patterns in the body.
Researchers are only beginning to understand how vibration frequencies affect healing and how exactly the Pineal Gland works. The Law of Vibration states that everything in the Universe is made up of vibrational energy. If everything is reverberating at one frequency or another, then it is possible, high vibrational crystals can affect our health by raising and balancing lower vibrations in the body.
So, I say keep the research up, all you, doubting scientists. Maybe working with all those crystal and minerals will raise your level of consciousness.
